BITO (which stands for Bittmann Oberstein, where the company was founded) has been writing its success story since 1845. Back then, the Bittmann family founded a small family business to manufacture metal fittings for the jewellery and leather goods industry. A typical start-up company, one would say today. In the early days, the products included the invention of a seamless hollow metal ball, which the founder applied for a patent for - visionary spirit paired with high precision have been in the company's genes since the beginning. Fritz August Bittmann also carried this spirit forward when he led the company into the world of storage technology in 1959, the fourth generation to do so. Today, the internationally active BITO-Lagertechnik Bittmann GmbH produces and markets innovative and high-precision racking, order picking, container and transport systems. Safety plus sophisticated high functionality are the top priorities when it comes to warehouse equipment.

As an independent, flexible partner and long-term companion to its customers, BITO-Lagertechnik's credo is to make their logistics a success factor through customized solutions and short decision-making processes. But BITO is even more: as one of the largest employers and training companies in its home region, the intralogistics specialist employs 1,330 people worldwide, 890 of whom work at its headquarters in Meisenheim and the neighboring Lauterecken production plant.
