About BITO

180 years of BITO-Lagertechnik. That's 180 years packed with courageous and visionary company decisions. 180 years characterized by developments and products based on innovative technology and pioneering developments. 180 years full of new and proven ideas and projects, 180 years full of adaptability. 180 years with a strong sense of responsibility, a pronounced culture of values and constant growth. 180 years that have always focused on one thing: acting for the long term, keeping an eye on our customers and shaping the future.

BITO (which stands for Bittmann Oberstein, where the company was founded) has been writing its success story since 1845. Back then, the Bittmann family founded a small family business to manufacture metal fittings for the jewellery and leather goods industry. A typical start-up company, one would say today. In the early days, the products included the invention of a seamless hollow metal ball, which the founder applied for a patent for - visionary spirit paired with high precision have been in the company's genes since the beginning. Fritz August Bittmann also carried this spirit forward when he led the company into the world of storage technology in 1959, the fourth generation to do so. Today, the internationally active BITO-Lagertechnik Bittmann GmbH produces and markets innovative and high-precision racking, order picking, container and transport systems. Safety plus sophisticated high functionality are the top priorities when it comes to warehouse equipment.

As an independent, flexible partner and long-term companion to its customers, BITO-Lagertechnik's credo is to make their logistics a success factor through customized solutions and short decision-making processes. The yardstick for all our actions is always customer satisfaction. Whether for major international projects or major customers in the double-digit million range, whether in cooperation with system integrators, key accounts or in direct business for equipping the materials warehouse of a small craft business with products from the online store: BITO is consistently committed to delivering premium in all business areas, both in standard processes and in special projects. An extensive network of specialist consultants in Germany and abroad guarantees optimum support and advice on site. In addition, a qualified customer service team is available to provide information on all questions. In almost all European countries, in Dubai, in the USA and in Canada, as well as with a further production plant in Poland, a total of 19 subsidiaries are directly accessible - for worldwide support.

But BITO is even more: as one of the largest employers and training companies in its home region, the intralogistics specialist employs 1,330 people worldwide, 890 of whom work at its headquarters in Meisenheim and the neighboring Lauterecken production plant.

BITO also assumes regional responsibility with the Bittmann Foundation, which supports the promotion of children and young people in the areas of education and sport, as well as medical care in the region and is one of the most important foundations in the Nahe-Glan region. The company also demonstrates its responsibility and future-oriented vision through its constant willingness to invest and its ongoing efforts to act sustainably. Whether as a manufacturer of sustainable intralogistics solutions or as a climate-neutral certified company that aligns its business activities accordingly. Above all, however, the company's long history is closely linked to its people and employees, who are BITO's greatest asset and without whom the company's success would not be possible.
